it took me 1 hour this afternoon to dig my car out. i don’t have pictures because i was on my knees digging in the snow with my arms. my whole body was cold and wet and i was so so frustrated. then along came this guy and his girlfriend and they helped me dig until it was apparent that digging alone wouldn’t work. then he produced a tow line seemingly out of thin air and pulled me to freedom.

is it so wrong that on this, the first saturday of the semester where i have absolutely nothing to do (no rehearsals, no teaching, no babysitting, etc.) that i don’t want to study for finals? is it so wrong that i want to sit around all day and watch tv even though there is nothing good on? recently i discovered icy hot. i’ve never been one for pain meds or other pain reducer things. i’ve never really been much for pain either. i’ve been lucky in my 21 years to not have had to deal with very much of it. i’m strictly referring to physical pain here. this past week i was in a lot of pain. until this past week the most pain i can remember being in was the week after i took a horton technique class. ever wonder why alvin ailey dancers look like that? ever wonder how they dance like that? horton technique. OUCH. but that was nothing compared to this past week. it was a week of intense soreness, feeling muscles i’ve never felt before in my life, and no time to recover before having to throw myself around again. my toenails are still sore. not joking.

anyways, sometime last week i did something to my wrist. strain, sprain, something along those lines. in desperation i turned to aleve and icy hot.

thank God for aleve and icy hot. and strawberry shortcake.

after 19 hours worth of rehearsals this week Chad Hall’s residency is over! i’m really, really sad. it was hard work and my body hurts like crazy, but i had so. much. fun. all i have left to remember the experience by are these sweet bruises. oh yeah, and the totally awesome dance we learned!
