cleaning
i am sure i just lost a lot of brain cells due to bleach. my mom is coming to visit and even though i am a messy slob (which isn’t my fault, who has time to clean in grad school???) she doesn’t need to know that. my bathroom smells like a swimming pool.

tumblr is great
tumblr is great because i can write stupid posts about things like my bangs. who cares about my bangs other than me? tumblr does, thanks tumblr.
bye bye bangs!
i have had some form of bangs since 7th grade. every time i decide i want to grow them out they get to an awkward length where i think they look stupid so i cut them.
now is the time to commit to the forever-long bang growout period. ugh. it’s going to be so hard…
BUT i’ve already committed to not cutting my hair until i get my masters degree (or even longer!) and that has...

All of a sudden I am an adult:
I have bills to pay I can talk to my adult neighbors for longer than 5 minutes and about subjects other than babysitting I keep my room clean I feel like complaining about having to work all summer but then there’s a voice in my head that says, “no, this is necessary and it’s ok” and my desire to complain goes away I have this strange, mature...

THE NORTH MARKET especially the barbecue place but also the whole thing.
BIKE RIDES IN NON-TRAFFIC AREAS being a cyclist on the road is always risky but in new york it seems like drivers seem to think that cyclists are other drivers…and they can do things like turn in front of you and cut you off and generally...

A couple of fantastic things!
this semester i am working on a solo for my dance making class. in the solo i want to investigate my relationship to visual art; existing work created by visual artists, visual art created by dancers, visual art i will create myself, etc. this week i have been feeling a little unmotivated/overwhelmed with where to begin on this thing so today i went to MoMa hoping to find inspiration…

emotional hangover
why is leaving home always so hard? i was doing great here in ny but this past weekend i went home for a visit. a really fast visit (3 days) and of course, it went by REALLY FAST. i’m feeling all dried up and numb emotionally after some teary goodbyes and now that i’m back i feel like i have to go through my (long emotional) adjustment period all over again. it’s exhausting....
r.i.p.
tomorrow i am going to the bmv to get a new york driver’s license. this is no big deal right? but i’m actually pretty sad about having to give up my ohio license. it just doesn’t feel right and i don’t really want to have to do it. forget about how awful the bmv is on a regular occasion, i just hope i don’t burst into tears when i have to hand over proof of my...
